ABSTRACT:
Procedures have been developed for predicting both matrix and macropore hydraulic soil properties from published methods. Methods for predicting the matrix and macropore saturated hydraulic conductivity used coupling fractal processes with the Marshall saturated conductivity formulation. Also, methods relating the number of pore chses, maximum pore radius, size/count distribution, and areal porosity to soil properties used fractal principles. The methods were organized to provide estimates of matrix and macropore characteristics from several alternative data inputs.
