Progress, but more work is needed

I'VE enjoyed writing these columns for the past two years. These are fast-paced and exciting times for soil and water conservation activities. In the short period of two years, a tremendous amount of soil and water conservation has been accomplished throughout the world. Yet, everyday, we can see the need for stepping up the pace in order that the resources of the world stay in balance with the demands placed on them. There is much more we need to accomplish.
I do, however, take this opportunity to express thanks!
In SWCS there are many individuals to thank. First, our members, for their loyalty, support, and efforts to promote the soil and water conservation cause. Then we have the many chapter officers, committee members, and other members active at the chapter or council of chapters level. They also deserve a special and hearty thanks. On the international scene, we have committee members and task force members who work so diligently. Our thanks go out to them as well. In addition, we express thanks to our board and our staff members who help keep so many of our organizational activities on track. We owe a special thanks to those …
