ABSTRACT:
A shift from infiltration excess to storage excess as the dominant process generating surfce runoff in watersheds and allowance for partial area runoff have been used as the basis for the AWBM watershed model for estimating runoff from rainfall. The model has flexibility and can be used as either a simple 1-parameter model similar to the Curve Number method, or combined with a flood hydrograph model to calculate flood hydrographs at hourly time steps. Results ffom two watersheds are presented.
