ABSTRACT:
The Revised Universal Soil Loss Equation (RUSLE) is erosion prediction technology developed under the leadership of the USDA-Agricultural Research Service (ARS) as a conservation planning tool to replace the universal soil loss equation. The technology was considered complete and available for implementation by ARS and the Soil and Water Conservation Society (SWCS) in 1992.
This paper discusses the implementation processes and strategies used to overcome concerns for implementing RUSLE in NRCS field offices; describes a unique Cooperative Research and Development Agreement between ARS and SWCS; and analyzes the instructional design, materials, and methods used by S WCS in transfering RUSLE technology.
