Locke is a soil scientist and laboratory director at the National Sedimentation Laboratory, USDA ARS, Oxford, Mississippi. Claire Baffaut is a research hydrologist in the Cropping Systems and Water Quality Research Unit, USDA ARS, Columbia, Missouri. Allen L. Thompson is a professor in the Department of Bioengineering, University of Missouri, Columbia, Missouri.
