ABSTRACT:
Previous efforts to characterize sheet and rill erosion on cropland failed to separate physical characteristics of the land resources from the effects of cropping and conservation management. Now, a classification scheme that makes this separation is proposed and compared to erosion rate classifications and classifications based on the U.S. Department of Agriculture's land capability class system.
