SWCS Member Subscriptions
What is a member subscription?
An online subscription is included with all SWCS memberships.
Individual Subscriptions
What is an individual subscriber?
Individual subscriptions are for individuals and for noneducational organizations desiring a subscription. The individual online subscription allows one individual to access the online journal using an individual username and password. Please note that the online individual subscription is intended for one individual and the username/password may not be shared.
What if I am not a college or university but I need online access for several individuals?
You may also want to consider separate individual subscriptions or memberships (one per person).
Institutional Subscriptions
What is an institutional subscriber?
Institutional subscriptions are for educational institutions (colleges and universities) serving a single campus community or organizations serving a single office location. Authorized users include current active students, faculty, and staff. Institutional online subscriptions require a librarian or other contact person to enter and manage a list of associated IP addresses that will be used for authentication. Organizations not meeting this educational institution definition wishing to provide multiple people online access to the journal should consider either an office-specific institutional subscription or separate individual subscriptions or memberships for each person. To determine the best access configuration for your organization, please contact memberservices@swcs.org.
How do I add IP addresses to an institutional subscription?
IP addresses are added through the JSWC Administrator Center. Information on IP addresses can be found on the About IP Addresses page.
How can I obtain usage statistics?
Useful, detailed usage statistics reports are available to institutional subscribers. Usage statistics can be obtained through the Highwire Usage Reports page. You may also contact pubs@swcs.org to request usage statistics.
Does the journal offer perpetual access?
Yes, upon request, an institution may retain access for content published within years of an active subscription. Full archival content will not be included.
