So I'll give it a try as well. SWCS can, in my view, have one of the most meaningful decades of its existence during the next 10 years. During this next decade SWCS will: ▸ Celebrate 50 years of chartered service. ▸ Embark on a new strategic plan. ▸ Complete a major evaluation of the implementation of the Food Security Act of 1985. ▸ Continue to conduct forums for the discussion of key environmental issues. ▸ Strive to serve its membership in more effective ways. ▸ Speak out knowledgeably on the soil and water conservation issues that are of concern to nations. ▸ Work on the enhancement of professionalism in the field of conservation. ▸ Address resource issues on a multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary basis. ▸ Learn how to apply new technology in accomplishing the wise use of natural resources. These and many other activities are just a foundation upon which we can build a very successful organization during a time when people in country after country indicate that the natural environment is more and more important.
