The utility of geographic information systems for implementing an existing land application site selection model was examined. Suitability for several treatment techniques were considered using soil, topographic, and land use factors, integrated with information about the biological, chemical, and physical properties of waste. The results of this analysis were combined with a set of factors that reflect the social and political realities of applying waste on land. The result is a graphic display using computer cartography of sites that are suitable for land application of sewage waste. ER -
