AB  - The accumulation of unwanted agricultural pesticides and pesticide waste pose a significant environmental concern. During 1994-1995, a pesticide collection program was conducted in 37 Illinois counties. A total of 504 individuals participated in the program and approximately 135,000 lbs of unwanted/unusable pesticides were collected. When participants were asked to identify the source of unwanted products, 55% indicated that pesticides were left over from the spray season, while 26% reported that a previous tenant left the pesticides on the farm.
