Frus YR 1983 UL http://www.jswconline.org/content/38/3/284.abstract AB A conservation tillage survey, conducted by farmers in Sac County, Iowa, showed that weed and insect control, planting problems, cost of changing to conservation tillage, uniformity of emergence, and pesticide and fertilizer application problems were greater concerns than yields and profits. Farmers using less intensive tillage practices generally were more positive toward conservation tillage. Many more farmers indicated that they used conservation tillage than an examination of tillage methods revealed. This perhaps reflects different definitions of conservation tillage.
