After 20 years of increased streamflow and longer duration streamflow, a riparian zone below the watershed treated for shrub control had 7 riparian plants per 100 m2 compared with a nearby, untreated watershed that had 2.3 plants per 100 m2. This increase in riparian vegetation has implications for water quality, wildlife, and water use.
